Intentionally presenting the gospel at LAMP gatherings utilizing the idea of living life in a posture “WITH” God.

(adapted from the work of Skye Jethani). Infusing a deeper understanding of theology into all of our events and trusting younger participants to rise to greater expectations in thought and practice. Singing and sending song text home is also integrated into every event, knowing that music is a fundamental teacher and is integral to who we are as human beings.

A pillar of the LAMP ministry. The Idea is that leadership is largely about influence – something we all have.

Our intention is to ignite this understanding for young and old alike so they might open themselves up to how the Holy Spirit can and will use them in influencing others for the sake of the gospel.

Each LAMP event and gathering provides intentional times of connection between a diverse, inter-generational group of individuals from across the District.

These moments of deep connection between children/teens and adults foster opportunities to further influence and mentor young people as they grow and mature.

As adults of faith, intentionally seeking how God would re-ignite our call, commitment and responsibility to understand and practice how to Pass On The Faith to our children and youth.

This effort is developed through what we call “The Ministry Festival”, an annual event planned and led in cooperation between the LAMP ministry, NYI and SDMI. The Festival includes times of deep worship, excellent instruction (presenters from Ambrose University and local leaders), sharing of personal and spiritual insights, mentoring and fellowship.

Concentrated/focused time which allows us to intersect across the generations in a weekend setting asking and exploring the questions; “Who Am I?” and “Who Defines Me?”

These events are called LAMPgirls and LAMPguys, age range 10 years and up to mid 80’s. They are held at the same time but at two different locations and there is a specific theological concept that is central to the weekend conversation.

In a weekend setting (LAMP@Charis), with a consistent pastoral leader who preaches and invites participants to an individual response to God’s call, we also provide practical ways of responding to that call, including…

“Sign Up to Serve” – VBS/Camps/Summer programming – we assist with placements

Discovery Workbook – includes biblical, leadership and team work concepts, strategies and practices worked on during the weekend and beyond

Mandatory training for those interested in serving at summer camps on CPD

Discussions regarding the value of higher Christian education

A unique Sign Up To Serve opportunity is Freedom Sunday. Our goal on CPD is to reach  100% participation from our local churches in this annual NCM sponsored offering.  As well, LAMP participants can serve as Ambassadors bringing awareness, education and action to our local churches. Our project is to raise support for the NCM work in Moldova.
