We invite you to come and visit us at our church and to visit our website often and keep up with what is happening here at the Penticton Church of the Nazarene. We also invite you to participate in worship with us or contact us at anytime if we can be of service. We are a blended church that caters to the whole family from babies to grandparents. Our services are designed to meet the needs of the entire family with a fully staffed nursery, kidszone time with Pastor Jamie and contemporary praise and worship and classic hymns combined with dynamic and powerful sermons that challenge the spiritual life of all who follow Jesus. We believe that our purpose here is “Loving People to Freedom in Christ” and we are always blessed when meeting new friends. May God pour out His richest blessings upon your life today.

MINISTRIES

SMALL GROUPS
“Small groups” are one setting where spiritual growth, transformation, and Christian fellowship can be found. We believe small groups are an important factor for growth, both for the individual and the church body. The best Christian small groups provide a safe environment to ask questions, to be held accountable, and to be challenged to live a Christ-centered life.

In addition to being an effective evangelism tool and providing another entry point into the church small groups also provide an effective means to care for the people as it is impossible for the pastor to provide all the care people need. As well small groups can accelerate spiritual growth as people are usually more comfortable sharing needs and concerns in small groups which leads to accountability and an atmosphere that nurtures growth.

Small groups sift the work of the church to the people and fulfills Ephesians 4:12. This verse says “equipping the saints to do the work of the ministry.” As Christians, we are saints, whether or not we are comfortable with the term. The early church demonstrated how the work of the church was accomplished by empowering lay-leaders. Community people expect the pastor to be involved in ministry. When the laity, however, takes this role, the impact is greater.

Check the calendar for small group dates and times at the Penticton Church of the Nazarene or contact Deb in the office and she will be able to assist you in finding the right small group for you.

NEW HORIZONS
New Horizons ministers to those over 50 years of age by providing a time of fun and fellowship on the second Thursday of each month and providing an opportunity to serve the Lord with gladness on “For Others Day” which occurs on the fourth Thursday of each month. Through the New Horizons Ministry, the Church of the Nazarene is responding to the large and growing group of older adults within the church and community we serve. Mature adults are vitally important to our church. Within this group can be found valuable resources vital to the health and growth of our local church ministries. Among these are wisdom, experience, traditions, stability, spiritual maturity, and love for their church and church family. New levels of longevity, health and vitality, as well as discretionary resources and time are also found.

If you would like to participate in the New Horizons ministry please check the calendar for more information concerning dates and times.

WOMEN’S MINISTRIES
Women’s Ministries Philosophy

We believe that women are important in God’s eyes and are vital in His kingdom. We believe in unity within diversity and cooperation and caring through the inspiration and power of the Holy Spirit.

Women’s Ministries Purpose

The purpose of Women’s Ministries is to:
• To know God personally
• To grow in Christlikeness
• To discover and use spiritual gifts
• To love and serve others
• And in all we do to reflect the beauty of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Women’s Ministries Mission

The mission of Women’s Ministries is GROWTH.
Gathering women
Resourcing opportunities
Offering acceptance
Winning women to Christ
Teaching biblical truths
Honoring the Spirit-filled life

Philippians 2:1-2 supports these statements.
If therefore there is any encouragement in Christ, if there is any consolation of love, if there is any fellowship of the Spirit, if any affection and compassion, make my joy complete by being of the same mind, maintaining the same love, united in spirit, intent on one purpose. (NASB)
The Ladies Care Group meets Wednesday evenings at 7:00 pm. Check the calendar for details.

MEN’S MINISTRY
Historically and biblically, men have been essential to the fulfillment of the Church’s mission and spread of the gospel. Men have served in crucial positions of leadership in all areas of ministry, clergy and lay, domestic and international.

Nazarene Men’s Ministries follows in that tradition by affirming, teaching, modeling, informing, and inspiring men of all ages and nationalities for meaningful Kingdom service.

Today men are becoming more aware to their spiritual need and God’s call upon their lives. They are systematically gathering to seek God’s will and counsel. Nazarene Men’s Ministries is committed to touching that need with resources and support.

Check the calendar for details for Men’s Pool Night at the Cue Connection and the monthly Men’s Breakfast.

YOUNG ADULTS – MARRIED & SINGLES
If you are a young adult looking for a place where spiritual growth, transformation, and Christian fellowship can be found then the YAMS ministry is for you. It is also a setting that provides a safe environment to ask questions, to be held accountable, and to be challenged to live a Christ-centered life. It is a place where discipleship provides a means to meet these needs while encouraging young adults on their Christian journey.

AWANA
Equipping Churches and Parents to Raise Christ-Following Kids for Life Awana helps churches and parents worldwide raise children and youth to know, love and serve Christ!

Awana happens every Tuesday evening starting at 6:30 pm and a reminder to parents to please remember to pick up your children inside the church promptly at 8:00 pm. Please also note that we are a scent free area.

Check out the calendar for the theme each Tuesday and for other important information by selecting the Awana interest group then clicking on the event link for that day.

KIDS
Children are welcome and an important part of our family beginning with newborns as a staffed and fully equipped nursery is available during the Sunday morning service. Pastor Jamie shares simple yet powerful lessons with the children during Kidzone time in the Sunday morning service. Sunday mornings also has Son Beams for pre-schoolers and Children’s Church for children from grade 1 to 5 to attend during the service. Awana is a mid-week activity that runs from September to April on Tuesday evenings starting at 6:30 pm for children from ages 6 to 12.

The Penticton Church of the Nazarene recognizes that children are important to the future of our church and to society as a whole. Children are like little sponges and soak up both good and bad information and habits. It is our prayer that we will feed the children on God’s word, show them God’s love, and provide a safe environment as they learn to love God.
